Two books can change a bookish eighteen-year old’s life: The Communist Manifesto and The Fountainhead. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable theories, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other involves architecture.

I agree Daniel. One could call Communism a kind of architecture. It has to be built from the ground up, starting with monarchism, until you eventually reach Communism; and yeah… fountainhead does lead to a crippled adulthood, that I agree with as well.

Communism leads to the murder of millions by those proclaiming equality for all while maintaining control and the the most elite of pleasures. Only a Communist would believe that one death is a tragedy, a million deaths are a statistic or 50 million should straighten out the farm economy. Only the totalitarian mind would embrace the evil expressed that real power comes from the barrel of a gun.

This is snark, right? Because it sounded like you just described 19th century US “manifest destiny”.

      • Bill says:

Communism does not lead to murder. Communism is an economic model, nothing more.

        Totalitarianism…THAT leads to murder.

Sigh, it seems that someone is hook on catchy phrases and labels and not on information. I have yet to see a country really adapt the communist system as the leaders refuse to let go of the reigns of power and take the final step that the system requires.

Well Matmos, Joe Steel was pretty shitty at communism…but hella-great at Stalinism.
